Signature Suite: Le Baron Perché

One of the 49 keys to Les Sources de Cheverny particularly enhances the senses, both literally and figuratively. A visit to a one-of-a-kind Signature Suite called Le Baron Perché.

Perched on stilts above a lake, this sumptuous suite made of solid wood, designed by architect Yves Collet, is emblematic of the bucolic spirit of Les Sources de Cheverny. From the top of its tower, it majestically overlooks the entire village and offers a panoramic view of the estate and its orchards. It reminds us of the wooden cabins and their viewpoints that one encounters while crossing the magnificent forests of the Loire Valley.

“The exterior architecture contrasts with the interior decor, which aims to be unexpected and sophisticated. This is a way to add even more value to this raw wooden shell,” explains Antoine Ricardou, co-founder of Ateliers Saint-Lazare, with whom Alice and Jérôme Tourbier collaborated.

Enter this dwelling with its intimate charm, and you will discover an interior adorned in creamy hues and silky fabrics. The owners have envisioned a “narrative” decor, elevating guests to the peaks of well-being. In the corners of the suite, you’ll find unusual objects cleverly sourced by Alice Tourbier from local flea markets. The room also features surprising light fixtures, such as the 1950s Stilnovo bedside pendants. “The desk lamp reflects our attraction to reclaimed materials. Its base is actually a concrete core, a remnant from construction work, which we electrified,” explains Antoine Ricardou. The eye, softened by the fabrics from Maison Pierre Frey, is continually surprised, especially by the totemic sculpture created by the Atelier Pyrénéen. Finally, extending from the sleeping area, the lounge is furnished with a banana-shaped Italian sofa in ash green and a 1970s rug with patterns reminiscent of tree bark.

To prolong the dream, its vast terrace offers a panoramic view of the hotel and vineyardswhile the Nordic bath promises moments of relaxation and well-being, sure to delight couples looking for the perfect romantic break.

A precious and rare place for a delight like no other.
