Located just 600 meters from the famous Château de Cheverny, Domaine Le Portail is an ancient monastery where viticulture has flourished for centuries. This family-owned estate passionately cultivates 32 hectares of vines, producing wines under the protected designations of origin Cheverny and Cour-Cheverny. Tradition and history blend here, offering visitors an authentic experience in the heart of the Loire.
The estate offers tours and tastings starting at 10€ per person, available daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This immersion into the world of wine allows visitors to discover not only the region’s wines but also the craftsmanship of the winemakers who continue this tradition.
Maison des Vins de Cheverny :
Inaugurated in 2008, the Maison des Vins de Cheverny is another must-visit attraction for wine lovers. Dedicated to promoting AOC Cheverny and Cour Cheverny wines, this venue has experienced significant growth thanks to its unique tasting system, the only one of its kind in Europe. Visitors can sample up to 100 different wines, including red, white, and rosé AOC Cheverny, as well as white AOC Cour Cheverny wines.
Three tasting options are available without prior reservation:

Opening times vary: from 10 February to 5 April, the Maison is open from 11am to 1.15pm and from 2.15pm to 6pm.

Nearby, Domaine des Huards, winemakers since 1846, offers an enriching experience. Located in Cour-Cheverny, between the Loire and Sologne, this family estate has been managed for the past fifteen years using organic and biodynamic farming practices. Specializing in AOC Cheverny and Cour-Cheverny wines, it produces wines made from 100% Romorantin grapes, an iconic variety of the region.
The recommended visit duration is one hour and includes a free, self-guided tasting from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with tastings available starting at 24€ per person.
